Movement disorders are neurological conditions affecting muscular movement and control. These include Parkinson's disease, Lou Gehrig’s disease or ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), cerebral palsy and Huntington's disease (Huntington's chorea). Hand tremors and spasticity in the body could signal a movement disorder. Many tremors run in families. Diseases like Parkinson's and Huntington's are degenerative, with treatment focused on symptom management. Others, like Bell's palsy or Tourette syndrome offer greater chances for recovery.
