Nearsighted (Myopia), Farsighted (Hyperopia) & Vision Correction

Nearsightedness (myopia) makes distant objects blurry. Farsightedness (hyperopia) means you have more trouble seeing objects up close. Both of these common eye conditions are refractive errors, meaning the eye’s shape keeps light from focusing on the retina. Vision correction treatments may include eyeglasses, contact lenses, corneal ring implants or laser surgeries such as LASIK, LASEK or PRK (photorefractive radial keratotomy).
