The Worry Cure

Lori Goetzinger, a Healthy Advice managing editor, read this book and said we had to share it with our readers. So I asked her to write this issue’s book review. Thanks Lori for sharing your recommendation. And yes, this book is now in my library too.
“Try to be more positive. Things will work out. Just stop worrying.” If you’re a worrier, you’ve probably heard this advice before. You may have even told yourself these same things. But by now, you know that just telling yourself to stop worrying isn’t much help. So what does work? Robert L. Leahy, Ph.D outlines his seven steps to overcoming worry in The Worry Cure.
The Worry Cure is an interactive read, complete with questionnaires to help you determine your “worry profile.” You’ll learn about how and why you worry, as well as what strategies don’t work when it comes to coping.
Leahy’s seven steps are realistic, easy to incorporate into your daily life and accompanied by real-life examples that anyone can relate to. Leahy recognizes that you can’t just stop worrying, but what you can do, is “worry more effectively” by focusing on finding solutions to your worries. You’ll learn how to accomplish this, and much more in this insightful book.
