Knee & ACL Injury

Knees are vulnerable to injury in their ligaments, especially the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Other types of knee injury include meniscus tear and runner’s knee (iliotibial band syndrome). Knee pain can also be caused by conditions such as patellar tracking disorder and baker’s cyst. Treating knee pain may involve knee supports (such as knee braces). In serious cases, ACL surgery or total knee replacement may be needed. Weight loss and physical therapy are often helpful.
