What is a Patient Guide?
A Patient Guide explains what patients and caregivers can
expect and what patients need to know during their stay at
the hospital. It is a must-read and an indispensable tool
for hospital admission and discharge staffers to use to educate
their patients.
That said, the Guide's language needs to be easy to understand, with insightful explanations that engage and hold the reader's interest. By including photos and images, it will enlighten or entertain, provide comfort to patients and help them relax and heal.
When reviewing Patient Guides think about who's reading them. Do the stories engage the reader? Can your eye move quickly through information, or does it look like a wall of gray? Can it be improved?

The Healthy Advice Best Practices Patient
Guide includes up-to-date information and relevant content
that hospitals must communicate to their patients. This editorial
is matched with custom copy and prioritized according to the
individual needs of the hospital.

In your hospital's fast-moving world,
we give you a world of possibilities.
In the early days of patient relations programs, hospitals had few information tools to help patients understand the hospital experience. They typically handed out discharge instructions with reminders to take required medications and make a follow-up doctor's appointment.
Healthy Advice® Hospitals goes far beyond simply collecting and reprinting data. With our portfolio of Patient Guide publications, directories, reference tools and inserts, we serve the medical community by interpreting and transforming data into high-value, intelligent and informative publications that custom-fit the patient education requirements of every hospital we work with. As a hospital's communications partner, we add value by:
- Guiding patients on what to expect during and after a hospital stay, and everything they need to know to get through it.
- Enabling hospital caregivers to inform and educate patients expertly and ensure the success of their patient relations programs.
- Advancing a hospital's reputation and building favorable relationships with patients and families, medical staff, employees and communities.
