Common Cold Definition by Healthwise:
This common upper respiratory infection is caused by a virus. Typical symptoms may include runny nose, sore throat, cough, itchy or watery eyes, sneezing and/or nasal congestion. Symptoms are similar to allergies, but colds tend to be acute (short term). The severity of symptoms varies greatly. They usually resolve on their own in a week or two. Medications can help relieve symptoms, but there is currently no cure.
