Glaucoma & Cataracts

Glaucoma and cataracts are two of the most common eye diseases. Glaucoma involves damage to the optic nerve and loss of peripheral (side) vision, usually caused by rising fluid pressure inside the eye. Glaucoma treatment includes eye drops, pills and surgery. Cataracts, usually related to aging, are cloudy formations on the lens. They can be removed surgically or treated with cataract surgery (called laser posterior capsulotomy).
