Brain Tumors & Brain & Nerve Cancer

A brain tumor can mean brain cancer, but it can also be benign (not cancerous). There are many types of brain tumors, including glioblastoma multiforme, glioma, brain stem glioma, astrocytoma and medulloblastoma. Tumors can also develop in nerve cells elsewhere in the body (e.g., neuroblastoma). Headaches, nausea and vomiting can be symptoms of a brain tumor—as can trouble talking, hearing, seeing or balancing. Brain tumor treatment depends on the type of tumor and whether it is cancer. Most headaches are not related to brain tumors.
