Autism & Pervasive Developmental Disorders

Autism and Asperger's syndrome are part of a group of developmental disorders known as autism spectrum disorders. Other disorders in this group are Rett syndrome and pervasive developmental disorder (PDD). Autistic children have difficulty with social interaction, limited verbal communication and repetitive behaviors. A related condition not on the autism spectrum is sensory integration dysfunction.
