ADHD in Children
Your child can’t
sit still; never listens when you speak; is absent-minded or forgetful; and
doesn’t like to do as he or she is told. Does that mean he or she has attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), also known as attention deficit disorder
(ADD)? Not necessarily. The symptoms of ADHD could describe just about every
kid you’ve ever known. The difference is that children with ADHD exhibit six or
more very specific symptoms in more than one setting (not just at home) for six
months or more. Find out how much you know about ADHD, whether your child might
have the condition, and the best ways to treat it.
